love is... appreciating your extremely unconventional family, and being grateful for them being there for you during the most difficult times in your life.

love is... desiring love and to be loved. hoping that you mean enough to someone and that your love with prevail over everything that has tried to stand in its way.

a bit of an explanation...

I haven't posted on here in a little while because for the last week or so I was really struggling finding the love in things. While it hasn't been an easy time for me, that's no excuse to start seeing love as a negative thing.

Being hurt makes it a little harder to see the good in people. However, if there was good in them before, chances are its still there. Sometimes, we need to swallow our pride to see both sides of a situation. Love may seem different to different people. But the truth of the matter is... love is love. When you feel that love for someone else, you realize the importance of all the things you share together.

With all that being said, it takes time for love to mature. While things may be rocky at a certain point, you need to have faith that love will prevail over everything else.

day seventeen: love is...

love is... the bond you hold with someone who may not be with us anymore. you can miss them with every ounce of your being, but the bond remains unbroken. wishing they were still here isn't selfish, it's human. it never gets easier, the pain just becomes easier to bare once you realize that their love for you has never left.

day sixteen: love is...

love is... patience. doing your best to try to understand them if it it isn't the easiest thing to do in the moment.

day fifteen: love is...

love is... always different. you can't compare it, or judge it, or even be afraid of it. sometimes, you have to dive in head first, no matter how scary that may be. you can't let your past hold you back from something beautiful, something real. being open minded and honest is crucial. let everything you say hold your deepest feelings, no one is a mind reader. it may take some work but in the end, it's worth the outcome.

day fourteen: love is...

love is... gushing about how happy you are and seeing how happy the people around you are just to see you smile.

day thirteen: love is...

love is... catching yourself in a constant state of smile when you're thinking about them.

day twelve: love is...

love is... knowing undoubtedly that this is the same place you see yourself years from now. there isn't anywhere else you'd ever want to be.

day eleven: love is...

love is... when he supports you when you're at your weakest. it's rough when you struggle with something internally and its enough to ruin your mood. To hear that they think you're perfect the way you are, but are more than willing to help you to see you happy is more than any girl could ever ask for.

day ten: love is...

love is... being excited about the smallest things. "hellos" & "goodbyes," showing how thoughtful they can be, a glance across a room, a gentle touch, that one sentence that always sticks with you. and more importantly, the feeling that the excitement will never get old.

day nine: love is...

love is... not giving up when the going gets tough. when something is real, no matter how difficult a situation may be, pushing through the sludge is what's important. figuring out who you both really are and how to grow together.

love is... completely trusting, even in the early stages of a relationship, that they have nothing but good intentions. not all guys are the same, and it's a remarkable thing once you realize it first hand. Especially once you finally realize that you deserved to feel this way all along.... like you mean something to someone, something important.

day seven: love is...

love is... being in a room full of people, and him making you feel like you're the only one that matters.

day six: love is...

love is... spending hours with someone and never running out of things to say to each other.

day five: love is...

love is... thinking about them all day long and not being embarrassed, afraid, or ashamed to tell them so.

day four: love is...

love is... friendship. true friends will use their love for you in so many ways. write to you, hug you, kiss, you, clean for you, be there for you, cry with you, sing with you, laugh with you. and every bit of it is just as beautiful as the next.

day three: love is...

Love is... Forgiveness. Ther is no such thing as perfect. People make mistakes, especially hen getting to know one another. It is an intense learning process, and forgiveness and understanding is key in making your love successful.

day two: love is...

love is... finally realizing what you deserve & opening your eyes to see that someone else wants to give you what you have deserved all along.

Love is... support. I have some of the best friends and family that a girl could every ask for. During the roughest points in my life, they didn't run and hide, they stood by my side and held my hand if I needed the strength. Something I will be eternally grateful for.

One of my friends had the brilliant idea to start a "Love Is..." blog, and I thought I needed to jump right on the bandwagon. Everyone should be reminded from time to time what love truly is. Love is so many different things and means such different things to different people, but that's the beauty of it. Over my short life span, I've learned that love is something I will always believe it. I may not be good at finding it, or seeing it in unexpected places,but I'm learning. Love, to me, means truly being happy. So here goes nothing...
